McCulloch, Hugh
(7 dic. 1808, Kennebunk, Maine, EE.UU.–24 may. 1895, cerca de Washington, D.C.).

Financista y estadista estadounidense. Fue maestro de escuela en Boston y en 1833 se trasladó a Fort Wayne, Ind., donde ejerció como abogado y luego fue banquero. Cuando fue nombrado secretario del tesoro (1865–69), procuró volver al patrón oro en EE.UU., para lo cual retiró de la circulación el papel moneda que se había emitido durante la guerra de Secesión, pero la oposición pública se lo impidió. Fue nuevamente secretario del tesoro de 1884 a 1885.
